Generate a random world landmark, with its location, for travel ideas, geography, history, or worldbuilding.
This generator draws from 56 famous man-made landmarks around the world, grouped by continent -- Europe, Asia, Africa, North America, South America, and Oceania. It covers monuments, buildings, and structures from the Eiffel Tower to Machu Picchu (natural wonders have their own generator). Each result shows the landmark's location and a short fact.
Every result here is drawn using crypto.getRandomValues() -- the Web Crypto API's cryptographically secure randomness -- instead of Math.random(), so it's genuinely unpredictable, not just statistically random. Learn more.
Travelers use it to pick a bucket-list sight or plan a trip around a landmark. Teachers and students use it for geography and history lessons, and writers use it to set a scene at a real, recognizable place. It's also a fun way to test your world-landmark knowledge or settle on somewhere to read about.
Generate draws one landmark at random from the full 56-landmark pool using the site's cryptographically secure randomness, guaranteed not to repeat whatever result is currently showing in single-result mode. Filtering by continent narrows the pool before drawing, and each single result shows the location and a short description.
A sample of what this generator can draw, spread evenly across the full list:
Yes -- all 56 are real, famous man-made landmarks you can visit or see today.
No -- this generator is limited to man-made landmarks. Natural features like canyons, falls, and mountains live in the Natural Wonder generator instead.
Yes -- use the filter button to pick one or more of the six continents. Generate will then only draw from landmarks on the continents you've selected.
Not in single-result mode -- each new roll is guaranteed to differ from the one currently on screen.
