This generator draws from 116 real sauces, condiments and dressings across eight traditions, from the French mother sauces through Italian pasta sauces, Mexican salsas and moles, East and Southeast Asian condiments, South Asian chutneys, Levantine and North African pastes, and dessert sauces. Each comes with what it's made of and what it's for.
Every result here is drawn using crypto.getRandomValues() -- the Web Crypto API's cryptographically secure randomness -- instead of Math.random(), so it's genuinely unpredictable, not just statistically random. Learn more.
A sauce is usually what makes a plain piece of protein into a dish, so cooks use this to decide the direction of a meal before anything hits the pan. It's also a good way to work through a classical repertoire one sauce at a time, and it's the finishing block in the Random Meal preset.
