This generator draws from 240 original character flaws across four categories -- Vice, Fear, Social, and Moral -- each a sentence-length flaw rather than a single word, giving a character a real weakness to play against their strengths.

Every result here is drawn using crypto.getRandomValues() -- the Web Crypto API's cryptographically secure randomness -- instead of Math.random(), so it's genuinely unpredictable, not just statistically random. Learn more.

How it works

Generate draws one flaw at random from the full 240-entry pool using the site's cryptographically secure randomness, guaranteed not to repeat whatever result is currently showing in single-result mode. Filtering by category (Vice, Fear, Social, Moral) narrows the pool before drawing.

Are these single words or full flaws?

Full sentence-length flaws, not single words -- each one is written to be usable as-is on a character sheet.

Can I filter by category, like only Fear?

Yes -- use the filter button to pick one or more of the four categories. Generate will then only draw from flaws in the categories you've selected.

Will it show me the same flaw twice in a row?

Not in single-result mode -- each new roll is guaranteed to differ from the one currently on screen.

Is there a way to roll a whole character at once, not just a flaw?
