Generate a random glassware type, from classic barware to tiki mugs and stemware, for serving your next drink the right way.
Glass shape affects temperature, aroma and dilution, so the choice is practical rather than ceremonial. Stemmed glasses keep a hand's warmth away from a drink served without ice, which is why martinis and coupes have stems and a whisky tumbler does not. A narrow opening concentrates aroma toward the nose while a wide bowl releases it, and a tall narrow highball preserves carbonation by reducing the surface exposed to air. Volume is part of the recipe too: a glass sized to the drink leaves the right headroom for ice and dilution, which is why the same cocktail tastes wrong in a larger one.
This generator draws from a curated list of 72 real glassware types across six categories -- Classic Barware, Stemware, Tiki & Novelty, Beer & Highball, Shot & Small Format, and Specialty & Modern.
Every result here is drawn using crypto.getRandomValues() -- the Web Crypto API's cryptographically secure randomness -- instead of Math.random(), so it's genuinely unpredictable, not just statistically random. Learn more.
Home bartenders use it to figure out what to actually serve a drink in, especially when building out a bar cart and deciding what glassware to invest in next. It's also useful for planning a themed party (tiki night, say) around the right glass style.
Generate draws one glass type at random from the full 72-entry pool using the site's cryptographically secure randomness, guaranteed not to repeat whatever result is currently showing in single-result mode. Filtering by category narrows the pool before drawing.

Yes -- all 72 are real, established glass styles, not invented.
Yes -- use the filter button to pick one or more of the six categories. Generate will then only draw from glass types in the categories you've selected.
Not in single-result mode -- each new roll is guaranteed to differ from the one currently on screen.
